New site provides a platform for local environmental and political issues

Community members gathered at Frankston’s Uniting Church  on Wednesday to celebrate the launch of the new Frankston community website: www.frankston.vic.au.

Guests warmed up on hot soup while Richard Laverack (website coordinator) and community members chatted about a shared vision of a socially and digitally connected Frankston.

www.frankston.vic.au is a platform for local environmental and political issues, including “The Frankston Blog” where website-visitors can have their say about what is important to their community.

According to website coordinator Richard Laverack, ‘Frankston is entering a transitional phase, as is the whole world, to a sustainable future. We are thankful to be able to record Frankston’s efforts towards this and hope the community will share the challenges and solutions along the way.’

“We are grateful to the staff at .au Community Domains for their patience, understanding and help with this project. We are also thankful to the auCD community for their inspirational examples of community capacity building.’ Said Mr. Laverack.
